Abstract

We argue that, nowadays, the decrease of democracy is impulsion by a “moral clause” that can be directed to many vulnerable groups but has more popular support when used against LGBTI+ people. This moral clause helps to legitimate politicians with autocratic impulsions and a neoliberal agenda. This agenda prevents a dignified life for many people who suffer directly its effects, however, the politicians responsible for that agenda remain with popular support exactly for this moral clause.
